5 Tips & Tricks for Planning Your Beach Wedding
We’ve all seen the movies where couples seem to have flawless, easy-going beach weddings- but are these always the reality? Well, they can be if you look out for the 5 tips and tricks below!
#1. Make sure all of your invited guests are able to access the beach
This may seem like a given, but as we all know, planning a wedding is an extremely thought consuming process. What would be worse than having your guests unable to access your wedding spot? Therefore, you should always make sure that the beach of your choice can accommodate your entire guest list.
Things to look for:
Does the beach have ramps for handicapped access?
Is the beach easily accessible from the main road? Or do my guests have to make an effort to arrive to my wedding ceremony?
Will vendors struggle to bring necessary equipment to the beach?
Do you have access to shade, or is anyone likely to get a sunburn during your ceremony?
#2. The Ocean can be Loud
Imagine, you’ve just planned out the most heartfelt vows, all for the sound of crashing waves to completely over power your moment! Plan ahead! The ocean and waves can be very loud. There are ways around this, however. For example, you can look into wireless microphone options, or even renting a silent generator for your sound system. There are microphone wind guards that are available for purchase as well, and if someone else is providing your sound system, you should make sure they have the appropriate equipment.
This point also goes along with thinking of your guests- they want to hear every bit of your special ceremony, think ahead! When planning any wedding, you should always plan for mishaps like this, so that they are less likely to take place. Think of grandma and grandpa! No one should have to turn up their hearing aids for your special day.

3. Wear the right outfit
This piece of advice is purely for your own benefit as a bride or groom, or member of the wedding party. Comfort is key with beach weddings. Wear lighter material that is less likely to drag and become sandy and uncomfortable. You might even want to encourage your guests to do the same
Pick the right shoes! Who wants to wear heels in the sand? This sounds like a wedding disaster waiting to happen. Also, consider trading in your veil for an alternative accessory. Flower head pieces are a more natural accessory that could accentuate your beach wedding really well. These types of alternate head pieces can also provide you with more comfort, so you can be yourself and enjoy your day as it was meant to be!
#4. Make sure you have a beach permit
This seems like common sense, but you should really research and plan ahead for whatever beach setting you are choosing for your wedding, especially if this is a public beach! Do you want a bunch of strangers in their bathing suits in your wedding photos? No! Make some calls, and give yourself the peace of mind of not having to deal with tourists and beach bums on your big day.
#5. Make sure your seating is sturdy
Unless you’re trying to play a prank on all of your guests, definitely make sure their seats are sturdy enough to not tip over. Sand does not accommodate seating the same way that an outdoor wedding would on grass, etc. Before you hire a seating company, research if they have done beach weddings before, and what they would recommend.
All in all, your dream beach wedding is totally do-able, and unique! Do not be deterred by these suggestions, rather, use them to your advantage to create your own beautiful, and engaging wedding ceremony.
