Three Wedding Traditions for Nature Lovers

Celebrate your love for nature and your newlywed with these three nature-based wedding traditions!

  1. Hiking to a mountaintop for your wedding ceremony.

This outdoorsy wedding is sure to get you the coolest photos with the best views of the land around you. It’s also a great way to connect with your vendors before they take part in your wedding. What a nice way to chat while hiking, connecting with nature, and then saying I do to your soulmate at the top of a mountain. The walk down will feel like a breeze as your excitement and happiness take the front seat. Some people choose to change at the top, or to wear their wedding attire the whole hike- it’s totally up to you!

    2. Plant a tree

Planting a small bonsai trees, or really any plant is a special way to mark the beginning of any marriage. As you begin your honeymoon you can watch your tree or plant grow and be constantly reminded of how each day you must “water” and feed your own relationship for it to continue growing.

For this ceremonial touch, I would recommend chosin the song, “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” which signifies joy and happiness. Or you could opt for a more modern song selection as well.

    3. Pouring Sand

Pouring sand signifies the joined connection between each couple in a visual, and meaningful way. Couples can choose to have different color sand if they choose in order to form a beautiful souvenir of their wedding day, and joining together of two families.

Seacoast Ceremonial Music performed the song, “Marry Me” by Train with a guitar, flute, keyboard, and vocal group that enhanced this ceremony in ways I have never seen previously!
