5 Unique ways to Preserve your Wedding

Looking for ideas to preserve your wedding in addition to photographs? Check out these five simple ways to support small businesses and to commemorate your wedding celebration for years to come! Not only do some of these ideas cut down on waste from your wedding, but they’re also great decor ideas for your home!

#1. Framing your vows

Framing your vows is a sweet bedroom, or household decoration, and also a daily reminder of the promises you made to your partner on your wedding day. Framed vows are sure to bring a smile to you and your partner, and also the guests that see it in your home.

Worried about handwriting? Not to fear! You can actually hire calligraphers, and other artists to hand write the vows for you if you’d like! Etsy is a great place to start, but if you’re working with a wedding planner, they too should know of some great local vendors! Whether your vows are written by you, or the officiant, this is a very sweet method of remembering and celebrating the special commitment you’ve made to one another.

Preserving your vows will spark conversation about your wedding, a happy memory, and will get you thinking and talking about your special day for years.

#2. Neon and Painted Signs

Neon signs are not only cool at your wedding, but also in your home! Also, they provide a great focal point for picture taking for you, your newly wed, and your wedding guests as well! Put your neon sign in your bar, bedroom, kitchen, living room, anywhere!

Painted signs are very popular as well, as are painted mirrors! These serve as both great decorations for your wedding, and for your living space as well. However, I will say that sometimes easel type stands for signs can fall if it is too windy. Keep this in mind when planning your outdoor wedding!

#4. Repurpose your Wedding Veil/ Dress

You can do a variety of things with your wedding veil to repurpose it into something unique! Turn your veil into a necklace by putting it in a locket, or hiring someone Etsy!

If you celebrate Christmas, try turning your veil into an ornament to celebrate your wedding each year during the holiday season! Besides Christmas ornaments, you could also simply frame your veil, or at least part of it.

If you’re especially crafty, you could turn it into a head band to keep wearing!

#5. Frame the lyrics of your First Dance

Like framing your vows, the words to your “first dance” as a married couple make for a great reminder of your wedding day. You could have someone embroider your favorite lines from a song, or even print the complete lyrics! Put them somewhere you’ll read often so you never forget that special moment, and can recreate it often.
